Hey, anyone remember my video 'O Fortuna'? The one where I talk about the Scoobies with freeze frames of them and make the little descriptions about them and it was funny and stuff? Well, someone took my idea and my video and totally re-did it, using MY clips and MY idea. Yes, I know I just said that but WTF? She also uses a few moments of my YMCA video.

Of course my site is down right now so I can't link to my videos. I'm pretty sure I am a reliable person and you all can believe me on this. hahaha. Or...maybe I am jealous of some girl's incredibly poor videos. Maybe THAT is it. Hmmm.

Check it out. You can see tons of my sequences in there, but since most people wouldn't be able to pick them out like I can (obviously) you can also actually see flashes of my original descriptions too!

It bugs me a lot. I could probably get over her using FULL MINUTES of my videos-uncut, I'm talking a complete minute of my YMCA video in one of her vids-but the stealing my idea, using my clips and re-wording my jokes pisses me off.

For example, I wrote, "Xander. Regular guy. Caught a funny case of syphillis."
She wrote, "Xander. Basic average Joe. Demon magnet. Once had a funny case of syphillis."

I wrote, "Tara. Wicca lesbian with a heat of gold."
She wrote, "Tara. Wicca. Can turn a girl lesbian. Heart of gold."

I wrote, "Angel. Moody broody vampire with a soul."
She wrote, "Angel. Vampire with a soul. Brooding/sexy. Sex with Buffy turns him evil."

I could go on and on but you get the point. The point is: WEAK, goov9! Seriously. Dude, come ON. She used clips from my videos Setting Sun, YMCA, and Spiderman. I don't think she used any from Hell, but I watched so many of hers that I just can't remember. I'm pretty sure she used Hungry Like the Wolf too. Yes, she did.

So I left her comments on every video she used my clips in, which was almost all her videos. She ended up deleting most comments and blocking me, so I used my other Youtube signin name. Ha. You will never stop me from telling it like it is! I also left her 3 or 4 messages on her Youtube account. Feel free to comment on these two videos in particular, the first vid she called, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Dummies' and her 'Extended Version' where she just takes more clips and ideas from me because people complained she didn't put in Angel in her shorter version. Never fear! *I* put him in mine so all she had to do was go STEAL MY FUNNY IDEAS. Bah!

What else do you recommend? BTW, she also uses another vidder a lot, but I don't know who it is. The clips all have a watermark that looks like a capital E and small r, but flowy and script-like. Anyone know who that might be?

Having gone through this A LOT recently, I feel your anger. People have absolutely NO class AT ALL. A girl took my song, effect, clips and FONT for a video. Shes convinced they're not at all the same. Yupp. WHATEVS! I cant decide what annoys me more, people taking my song choices, or my clips. I think it annoys me for the song choices more. Mostly because it takes me FOREVER to find the right song and people just think that I'm doing the easy work for them. Wait, actually, stealing my cuts sucks too. You put a lot of work into making something flow and people just fuckin ass rape it. And not even doing it well. You can make a post to, stop_plagiarism detailing all that up put there. Wow.. I was kind of freaking because some girl was putting up my vids and taking credit (even when my name is on them) but at least they are my vids, she's not splicing them up and making them into other vids of far less quality using your hard work. I know quite well that if you comment they delete you. Also, you can report them, but we are all using copyrighted material, and Google is kind of getting butt-facey about that stuff, so I'm skeered.. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I am totally at a loss and don't know how you get someone to stop that on YOUR TUBE. (Reply to this) (Thread)

I am fuming with rage on your behalf. That's just so rude. I still have your Spiderman vid so was able to do a side by side comparison and just sat watching with my mouth open (no, I don't always watch like that). Then I watched the Buffy for Dummies extended version, and at several points I could clearly see your original captions! 1:37, there's your Angel descriptions. The watermark looks familiar but I can't place it; I have a feeling I've seen it in connection with Harry Potter, if that jogs anyone's memories. I actually joined youtube to tell her how pathetic this is, but couldn't get my comment to under 500 words before I ran out of patience. However I will be sending flying monkeys to attack her. As much as I like 'youtube' that's about as much as I hate it. I've got a similar problem with bandwidth theft of the songs I used on my sight, which now I've got to delete (one of the songs because it's cost me a bunch of money a few months ago until I figured out what's going on). I visited this youngster's site and since I'm a video head, I'll say she's 'stolen' most of the vids (I didn't watch them all) there and just changed music and a few minor things). I'll comment on her site...maybe there will be enough negative push from us lj folks to get her to take them down. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	That totally sucks -- I'm so sorry someone stole your work. I definitely agree on taking it to stop_plagiarism. Even if she doesn't confess/apologize precisely, it makes the community aware of the theft, and then allows other people to find their work has been compromised/stolen. (Reply to this) (Thread)

Now that I've slogged through making my own vids, this sort of thing really pisses me off. Yeah, letting someone else do the hard work and rip source and cut clips makes it easy, but where the hell is the fun and the sense of pride from creating something that is your own? Yeeesh. Oh Geez! That watermark! I've seen it too! Isn't that the vidder that did that video about Buffy jumping off the tower to the tune of Grace by Sarah M? You know who might know? paraviondieux, she's a big time vidder too. I have the wrong flash player and can't see YT videos; but I would have suggested stop_plagiarism too. Because the basis material is copyright protected at all and you use it both but the other stealing from you? You have no right to fight in. But stop_plagiarism can try to work something out. I did some comments on her YouTube, and now I'm blocked from commenting on her "vids". I sent her a message. I'm sure I'll be getting one back from her soon, full of teen-speak, misspelled words and WTFs!!! Bring it on. I'm so disgusted by actions such as this. I know how hard it is to put together a vid. A good vidder puts many hours of thought, heart and soul into vids. I've always enjoyed your videos, Monkeybottoms, and I am pissed beyond belief at how this tiny girl does nothing but block people. I left a message on her lj earlier today which has now been deleted, as has the one from timeofchange (which was a tad more restrained than mine). Utter denial. I'll be firing up youtube tomorrow to send more suggestions that she repent and turn away from the path of being an annoying little cow. I also checked out stop_plagiarism and they seem like they're doing good work on this kind of thing. As you say, bring it on. LJ ate my comment :-( second try: so I left the bird some comments yesterday, about how stealing is the lamest thing - of course all but one deleted today (I think she overlookoed that one LOL) and i was blocked from commenting so I left her messages today after creating another user - ha! take that, sucker!
